Complex Rehab Wheelchairs

At Active Medical & Mobility, we are committed to serving the lifelong needs of our customers by offering mobility solutions with comfort and care. We offer a wide range of power wheelchair models to meet specific needs.

WHAT IS A COMPLEX REHAB POWER WHEELCHAIR?

There are many challenges associated with a change in mobility and we are dedicated to being your partner throughout the process.  Complex power wheelchair users typically have significant mobility issues due to birth disorders, progressive or degenerative neuromuscular diseases, or traumatic injury.  We will provide your or your loved one with the care and special treatment you deserve.  Because no one solution fits everyone, our certified and licensed wheelchair specialists will meet with you to identify and build a specialized wheelchair combining the correct frame and accessories to provide optimum seating and positioning for your needs.  The objective is to assist in maintaining your lifestyle, increase function, comfort, stability, and independence, and allow you to perform daily activities.

PERSONALIZED CUSTOMIZATION

Complex power wheelchairs are available in a variety of types including front-wheel drive, mid-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive bases. Additionally, they are able to be customized in many ways:
•             Width, depth, height, seat angles.
•             Specialty and custom seat and back cushions.
•             Positioning items such as headrests and side and hip supports.
•             Advanced powered tilt and/or recline functions.
•             Manual and power elevating leg rests and foot platforms.
•             Specialty joystick controls.
•             Alternative drive controls including foot control, head control, sip-n-puff.
•             Plus many more.

ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY PROFESSIONALS

At Active Medical & Mobility, an Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) is involved from the very beginning during the evaluation process for all complex power wheelchairs. Our ATPs provide seating evaluations using Complex Rehab Technology for those with significant postural or mobility defects. Many insurance companies require that a RESNA (Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America) certified ATP work with a customer and their clinician to qualify for coverage. Our ATPs are RESNA certified and are specially trained and educated to work with you to find the most suitable product. While completing the evaluations, ATPs will consider your current and future medical and functional needs, including daily living activities, functional mobility, positioning, and pressure relief
